It was incredible to see everyone playing at our first arena club tournament of the summer!! We had 35 people, 16 chukkers and so much fun!! The first game ended with the Blue Team ahead by 1 point. Then it was the battle of the intercollegiate alumni. CSU’s, Chris Chun and Yale’s, Rob Burk showed off their all-star skills. The game ended with a giant deficit. Red was down by 6 points going into the third game! The Red Team entered the arena with a plan, it was a true battle of the sexes. The women played as a team, played for each other and the result was incredible! Red ended the 3rd game up by 1 point! In the last game Blue was on their back foot but didn’t disappoint. The score went back and forth and with only 30 seconds to go blue was headed to goal to try to win by 1 but it bounced off the wall and the ended in a tie!!! To save the ponies, Denver Polo Club settles all their club tournament ties with a friendly game of Flip-Cup…all ages, G rated and family friendly! The Red Team came out the victorious and took home the bragging rights!
Parker Keber was awarded as MVP and “Goldie,” ridden by Mary Fiore, was given Best Playing Pony. Thank you all for coming out and playing, we can’t wait for the next one!
This weekend we’ll host our 1st Saturday Tailgate, Military Appreciation Day and we are expecting a great crowd! Wear your red, white and blue, and we will have awards for the most patriotic tailgate! The teams and the horses are getting prepared for our first grass tournament!
